The Vernacular Architecture Forum (VAF) is the premier organization in North America dedicated to the study of ordinary buildings and landscapes. Established in 1979, VAF has been promoting the appreciation and scholarship of vernacular structures, holding an interdisciplinary membership comprised of professionals from the fields of history, architectural history, geography, anthropology, sociology, landscape history, historic preservation, and material culture studies.
When VAF partnered with O&M, they were facing numerous operational challenges and issues with their customer relationship management (CRM) platform, Wild Apricot. They encountered multistep processes when trying to perform simple tasks, and needed O&M's assistance to solve for these tedious bottlenecks. Furthermore, VAF also needed website support and marketing services to facilitate updates and improvements to their existing site.
After thorough assessment and understanding of VAF’s distinctive needs and challenges, O&M determined that VAF would gain from personalized customizations to Wild Apricot—their current CRM—management of their membership renewal platform, website maintenance, marketing support, and strategic guidance on assessing other CRMs that may better serve their user needs. A comprehensive website redesign was also proposed, for a future improvement, to better represent VAF's brand and to make the site more user-friendly and engaging. O&M committed to providing assistance with their existing CRM, ongoing website maintenance, and updates to ensure a smooth, efficient, and effective digital experience for VAF and its users.
